Project One – Extra Living Space
I decided to use my almost 30 years of structural steel engineering background to build my own beefed up version of a log cabin. I think you will agree that with the size of timbers i have used it really does look like a true log cabin. It’s not just the timbers that make my cabins secure, they are even steel reinforced! I am pretty sure no other cabin makers are doing that.
I have used double glazed units for windows and french doors and double glazed sky lights to the rear roof elevation. Down stairs is used by my wife and I as a gym and games room . We also have a home cinema and games console area which is used almost daily by my two sons. We have a staircase leading to the loft area, this is great storage space but is also used by my sons when their friends love to come and stay in the cabin for sleep- overs. I chose an asphalt tile which is used on many homes right across the USA.
Project Two – Log Cabin Office Space
My client wanted a home office but he couldn't find anything secure enough. At this time I was still running my steel erection business so took a couple of weeks off to build cabin number two. As standard to all my designs, the log cabin features steel reinforcing.
Project Three – Business Space
My third log cabin was built for someone who runs a business from home, buying and selling jewellery. The log cabin design features steel reinforcing, ensuring both an enjoyable and secure space. One of the additional benefits is that the client didn’t require planning permission.
Project Four – Summer Play House
It’s a completely different build to my log cabins, because instead of heavy logs I first built a timber frame then clad the outside with larch lap. It looks very different from my usual cabin but i think you will agree it is still a fine looking addition to any garden space.
Project Five – Art Studio
The fifth cabin we built for an Art Teacher as a home Art Studio, we built a patio area to house this tailor made cabin designed with the client to their specification
